SolarexMD has been through the industry's 8 hour waterproof test. SPF rating of 40 as assigned AFTER 8 HOURS.
Summary of test results: We test on female human test volunteers. Sunscreen is applied to the test subject's skin, allowed to set for 15 minutes and then a standard SPF test is performed, measured, and recorded. Test subject then performs 12 non-stop immersion/intermissions as follows: Test subject is submerged into a whirlpool with warm water and jets on (both conditions are considered to be more aggressive on sunscreen and the purpose of the test is to determine how the product will perform in real live outdoor situations). Each submersion lasts for 30 minutes, then out-of-water intermission for 10 minutes. 12 of these are performed non-stop, such that the test takes 8 hours to perform. At end of test, test subject is removed from water, allowed to air dry, and then another standard SPF test is performed, measured and recorded. The SolarexMD rating was achieved at the end of the 8 hour waterproof test. On most skin types, in most outdoor situations, SolarexMD will need to be applied only once. The product is Sal-Free and safe for fibromyalgia patients, cancer patients, lupus patients, and on most skin disorders.
